Fixed-term six month contract in first instance
The British Council is looking for a Business Development Manager to be based in Algiers. The consultant will work together with a dynamic team to support the establishment of a new British Council Teaching Centre in Algiers in 2014 along with our broader work in English in the country.
You will report to the British Council Teaching Centre Business Manager and work with the management team.
The British Council has received substantial interest from the state and corporate sectors for English training and capacity building. You will therefore be required to lead on business development to respond to this need for both teaching centre operations and for our work in English projects throughout the country.
– You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative as well as being part of the team in Algeria and a wider regional team across the Middle East and North Africa. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to plan your work and achieve results quickly and efficiently.
– You will also have good IT skills and be a willing team-worker. You will speak and write well in French and English, and preferably in Arabic too.
This post will suit someone with marketing or business development experience and or a relevant university qualification in marketing, business management or education.
Starting salary will around 110.000,00 DZD gross before tax deduction.
