Job Purpose:
Installation supervision, commissioning and service activities for communication products and systems (SDH multiplexer systems, power line carrier communication, telephony, fiber optic or wire based and radio systems as well as auxiliary systems, e.g. Battery and charger equipment) ; hand over systems to customer; perform maintenance tasks; check systems, analyze errors, trouble shooting and solve problems; on site customer training.
Duties:
– Execution of site surveys and creation of related reports
– Installation supervision of the system, if included in the scope, ensuring that the equipment are properly installed in accordance with ABB installation instructions
– Installation inspection before start of commissioning task
– Commissioning / testing of the system in cooperation with the customer or representatives
Commissioning engineer ensures that the correct function of the system in accordance with specifications and the scope of supplyEquipment commissioning is executed according to ABB commissioning instructions and commissioning reports.
– Commissioning engineer is responsible to spot and immediately report any deviations to the engineering specifications, inputs or targets and to plan corrective actions and to enforce them in cooperation with ABB project manager or lead engineer.
– Commissioning engineer ensures that all work done within his fields of activities are carried out according to site safety regulations and procedures to avoid any accidents. Further he ensures that the site environmental protection measures are followed.
– Accomplishes project and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
– Ensure quality feedback to engineering and development department
– Conduct site acceptance test and hand over of scope of supply to customer or representatives (issue Take Over Certificate TOC and get it signed)
– Organizes and executes practical- and theoretical on-site training for customers
– Follow ABB’s H & S requirements
– Commissioning engineer takes part if required at marketing and sales presentations /seminars to/with customers in Algeria or other countries together with ABB sales manager and/or ABB sales organization.
– Commissioning engineer assures that appropriate time sheet is approved and signed by ABB’s client when works carried out on a time and material basis
Commissioning engineer effectuates above mentioned works mainly in Algeria; with the possibility to extend to other countries, e.g. other African countries if required.
