Role Summary/Purpose:
As Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Coordinator you will have to drive and manage the installation of electrical equipment and related instrumentation of the shaft line in a thermal power plant. This in the respect of health, safety and environment, terms, budget and contractual objectives
Essential Responsibilities:
In particular you will have to :
– Prepare the assignment : review instrumentation drawing (Turbine and Generator), wiring diagrams on turbine junction boxes, control compartment, auxiliaries equipment, acoustical package, list of wires, wiring lay-out, electrical grounding, control cabinets and specifications, preparation of the installation planning and anticipate for materials and installation resources.
– On-site : material inventory (quantitative and quality checks)
– Ensure Civil work is made in compliance with GE specifications
– Plan, follow up and manage electrical installation activities
– Ensure qualification of employees and tools used by employees respect the GE standard
– Provide with technical advice regarding tools and their use
– Take lead in problem solving by working with engineering and define and follow up action plan
– Manage vendors equipment
– Carry out plan test
– Manage Loop checks test
– Carry out reception test with the associated electrical engineer
– Participate to installation planning review
– Follow up material requests and report material shortage or damages
– Timely and quality follow up of as-built erection quality documentation
– monitor the budget during construction phase
– Send progress report to the site manager and hierarchy
– Turnover package to commissioning, issue punch list item and prepare contractual tests
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experienced engineer or technician with strong background OR Fresh graduate with relevant educational background
– Degree in electricity or instrumentation and controls
– Strong organisation and time management skills
– Ability to adapt quickly to different technical and contractual contexts
– Able to adapt rapidly to different environments (culture, language, technique, safety)
– Strong communication skills
– Strong analytical and decision making skills
– Some knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, fluids, computer science, automation
Strong technical background and likes technical matters
– English is mandatory, proficiency in French and Arabic would be determinant
After a training about our products, electrical I&C engineers are assigned to different sites (for variable durations, from some months up to above a year) on the different places where the power plant facilities are located
Mobility and flexibility required
Jobs are posted to support growth in Algeria; assignments overseas are possible and expatriation would come with associated allowances.
