Power Systems – Automation & Communication

The Sales Manager will be responsible for selling systems and products for Substation Automation, and Communications networks in Maghreb Area and based in Algeria. The role requires direct end customer contacts and EPC´s / ECPs working in the area. Incumbent sets strategy for a complex market, oversees sales planning and ensures alignment of sales strategies with corporate growth objectives.
Main Functions
– Sales of Substation Automation Products, Substation Automation Systems and Utility Communications
– Drive growth areas (geographical/segment/channels), growth strategies, & market approach
– Coordinate activities with the local ABB organizations in the area.
– Influence decisions that have major impact on area’s sales, market share, and financial results.
– Advises customers, including senior management, on ABB’s capabilities, technology, and applications for products and systems.
– Work with customers and ABB experts to resolve complex technical and business issues.
– Make plans how to increase business opportunities in Maghreb Area.
– Establish, build and maintain long-term customer relationships to increase market penetration and decrease Company risks.
– Engage in and leverage relationships, both internally and externally, to promote mutually beneficial partnerships
– Forecast, track, report and manage objectives to ensure results are achieved
– Remain informed of customer needs and proactively offer solutions
– Individual contributor, no direct reports.
– Based in Algeria
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
– Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales at management level
– Knowledge or Experience on T&D, Power Generation or Energy segments with end customers or Main contractors.
– Proven track record of achieving business success as a sales manager.
– Extrovert person with exceptional communications skills.
– Ability to discuss technical solutions with the customer.
– Strong planning skills that exhibit in-depth understanding of company’s technical and commercial strengths and relationships with markets.
– Adept negotiation and leadership skills to successfully overcome objections and close sales
– Aptitude to proactively identify opportunities and/or eliminate threats of major impact on organization’s sales, objectives and customer relations.
– Proficiency in Arabic, French and English language.
