Role Summary/Purpose:
As a Commissioning Engineer you will perform the preliminary checks prior to the plant systems start up, put under fluid and under voltage the power plant’s systems in his/her discipline. You will get assigned a system or a set of systems that you would own; in that mission you will ensure the acceptance tests are completed and drive the schedule towards a proper project completion. Essential Responsibilities:
In particular you will have to :
– Prepare assignments accordingly
– Carry out preliminary checks on functional systems: adequacy of as built systems with commissioning documentation, put under fluid, under voltage and control of results in the respect of the GE process.
– Carry out plant tests: prepare and participate in the start-up of the turbo-generator group and carrying out of mechanical tests, on load tests and coordinate electrical tests.
– Perform contractual reception tests with customer: adequacy with contract, turnover to customer without defects and follow-up of punch list items.
– Identify and analyse technical problems: watch for defects and find solutions, ask for adequate technical support and report problems.
– Build the commissioning schedule for the equipment and follow up.
– Coordinate activities having an impact on your own activities: correlate the different phases with project scope, anticipate specific expertise needs and make sure of the proper commissioning of subcontracted equipments.
– Search for and transmit the information about the state of the plant to project management, hierarchy and engineering.
– Follow-up non conformities, cost analysis, redact as-built documentation.
– Complete standard reports (weekly + end of mission) and other administrative requirements.
– Perform all activities in adherence to EHS policies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Experienced engineer or technician with strong background OR Fresh graduate with relevant educational background
– Degree in electricity, controls, mechanics or thermics
– Strong organisation and time management skills
– Ability to adapt quickly to different technical and contractual contexts
– Able to adapt rapidly to different environments (culture, language, technique, safety)
– Strong communication skills
– Strong analytical and decision making skills
– Knowledge in mechanics, electrics, hydraulics, fluids, computer science. Strong technical background and likes technical matters
– English is mandatory, proficiency in French and Arabic would be determinant
After a training about our products, commissioning engineers are assigned to different sites (for variable durations, from some months up to one year) on the different places where the power plant facilities is located.
Mobility and flexibility required.
Jobs are posted to support growth in Algeria; assignments overseas are however possible and foreign assigment would then come with associated allowances.
