MSD is a trade name of Merck & Co., Inc., Whitehouse Station, N.J., U.S.A.Overview- This position will be part of the Commercial Trade & Channel (CTC) team, within the Business & Commercial Operations Unit of MSD Algeria. CTC team is responsible for the commercial and marketing aspect of the supply chain (distributors, wholesalers, different types of pharmacies, through to the patient).
Trade Marketing Specialist is a customer-facing role, as the central coordinator for all pharmacy related marketing activities, related materials and campaign planning.
– Tasks include budget management, activity planning/monitoring, activities process management, alignment with brand teams/pharmacy accounts & implementation of activities on time with agreed norms & standards.
– Co-ordination with the CTC team members including planning, creation, co-ordination of specific trade marketing activities
– Ensuring these are in close alignment and collaboration with trade customers (customer surveys, focus groups, regular field visits, etc.)
– Testing and evaluating of Point of Sales “POS” items and campaignsJob Responsibilities:- Develop short and long term pharmacy plans based on thorough understanding of market conditions and trends utilizing CTC Merck Marketing principles
– Positioning the company as partner of choice:- Manage & track budgets efficiently with a complete track of spend, committed and available budgets- Maintain a complete database of all planned & implemented activities per brand per pharmacy to effectively track implementation and to keep all the stakeholders informed.
– Assist in the development of trade spend guidelines (according to fair market value), performs top-line allocations and reviews and authorizes planned field trade spend.
– Prioritize trade channel activities for maximum returns- Effectively negotiate mutually beneficial solutions with internal & external stakeholders and influence key decision
– Makers to improve in-store presence and pharmacy activities
– Monitor activities at the trade channel levels for the gathering of insight and also to track our aligned activities with the accounts
– Identify and monitor competitors and market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales with support of the Field force feedback and data collection
– Ensure activities are in line with agreed sales plan and local legal / compliance
Guidelines Qualifications Requirements:
– Knowledge of and experience (min 3 years) preferably in trade management, sales or marketing
– Pharma and/or generics industry experience- Experience with management of portfolio
– Marketing profile with strong commercial affinity and acumen
– Good understanding of Customer Management Process is key.
– Experience of data analysis
– Ability to analyse large volumes of complex information, interpret & use to shape
Planning Competencies Required:
– Strong negotiating/influencing skills, integrity and drive
– Advanced Project Management skills from planning to implementation, coordination, organization & monitoring.
– Good knowledge of Syndicated Data (IMS/In Market Sales)
– Proficient usage of Excel, PowerPoint- Advanced IT/Analytical skills (using Excel)- Besides French, important to be fluent in English
