PURPOSE

To design and supervise completion activities, advising rig teams of any issues relating completions and lead initiatives that aceive optimum completion times and effective completion techniques and to manage the entire testing and clean up process, in accordance with recommended Technical and Safety and Environment practices ensuring that the Project objectives are met.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

– To plan and execute well completions and testing in compliance with CLIENT HSE requirements/standards.

– To provide expertise in the field as well as support field based Well Services teams during execution activities.

– To assess the risks involved in well completion & testing operations and provide a range of suitable options to achieve the objectives.

– To provide technical input and participate in the preparation of the Call for Bids and tender evaluation process related to well completion and well testing contracts ensuring HSE requirements are included in the tender docuemnts.

– To provide input to well completion and testing AFEs to stay under the budget, with good operational and HSE performance

– To prepare well completion & testing programs, plans and procedures, using appropriate inputs. Follow and improve the process.

– To maintains a tracker of the key performance details of all completed & tested wells.

– To perform technical analyses of well completion & testing operational activities to ensure conformance with approved programs and to identify and propose optimisation measures.

– To update well-cost data on a daily, weekly, monthly and project basis.

– To ensure that well file data is accurate & updated.

Installation of mechanical completion.

– Ensure all required equipment is on-site

– Assist preparation of tubing tally and space out calculations

– Witness/verify positive and inflow testing of production top of liner

– Ensure wellbore cleanliness and submit graphical presentation of NTU vs circulation

– Witness proper make-up and pick-up of production packer assembly.

– Ensure proper setting of production or retrievable packer.

– Witness proper TR-SCSSV make-up and pick-up

– Witness proper tubing hanger and landing joint make-up/TR-SCSSV inflow test

– Ensure proper control line termination

– Inspect tubing hanger neck

– Prepare wellbore schematic

– Remedial operations such as plug backs, squeezes, etc.

Cased Hole Logging

– Rig-up/rig-down and safe operating procedures

– Confirm tool string configuration

Perforating

– Execution of perforation job; log correlation, confirmation of shots fired, etc.

– Ensure base log is correlated against cased hole correlation log

– Ensure guns loaded in proper order

– Ensure sufficient inventory of guns and charges

– Verify e-line tool string and BHA including back-up

– Ensure proper hook-up of control panel to shear ram/wireline rams/grease injector/grease nipple on BOP

– Ensure proper pressure testing

– Verify grease inventory

– Verify gun correlation

Clean-up

– Rig-up, pressure test/integrity and supervision

– Ensure proper rig-up; no leaks on surface lines

– Ensure clean-up criteria is met

Stimulation

– Rig-up/down and mechanical integrity of stimulation pumps, CTU, lines…

– Witness proper rig-up/testing of stimulation lines

– Verify proper integrity of surface lines after rigging down stimulation lines

– Annular pressure limits will not be changed without a comprehensive review with the Completions Engineer.

– Running or application of mechanical isolation

– Ensure required plug, tool string, BHA and wireline unit readiness

– Witness/verify rig-up and pressure testing and unlatching of running tool

Well Testing and DST’s

– Rig-up/down and mechanical integrity of well test equipment, lines…

– Ensure well test equipment rigged-up per P&ID

– Agree final DST tool string configuration (rupture disc settings, IRDV programming, etc)

– DST Daily Activity report

– Confirm all wireline tool string configurations for adequate weight to get in the hole and prevent birdnesting.

Reporting

– Start preparing and collecting information required for the Completions Final Well Report

– Completion Time Analysis

To participate in technical documentation assessment and drawing up the required review, reports and conclusions related to the work carried out. Audit documentation recorded at the job places, its completeness, and compliance with CLIENT HSE regulations.

To carry out risk assessment of each particular operation and communicate to the operation personnel.

To review all procedures with service company personnel before start of job.

– To directly supervise service companies in preparation and execution of completions and/or well test activities.

– To ensure all equipment & personnel are available when needed and is fit-for-purpose.

– To review and confirm with all respective contractor supervisors the operating parameters of all equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

– Well Control Certification. Experienced in high pressure, sour gas wells and wells greater than 4000m

– Solid understanding of both surface and downhole WT operations

– Good skills with PC in Windows environment.

– Have ability to work with Landmark DIMS / OPEN WELL.

– Fluent in English. French is highly considered.

– Good communication skills, flexible and self confident.

Senior Specialist:

– At least 15 years relevant working experience of which:

– Minimum 10 years in development projects for the Oil & Gas industry

– Minimum 5 years in projects developed in desert environments

– University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline

Specialist

– At least 10 years relevant working experience of which:

– Minimum 7 years in development projects for the Oil & Gas industry

– Minimum 3 years in projects developed in desert environments

– University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
