MSD is a trade name of Merck & Co., Inc., Whitehouse Station, N.J., U.S.A.Overview- This position will be part of the Commercial Trade & Channel (CTC) team, within the Business & Commercial Operations Unit of MSD Algeria. CTC team is responsible for the commercial and marketing aspect of the supply chain (distributors, wholesalers, different types of pharmacies, through to the patient).

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for the account management of the selected wholesalers within Algerian territory.

The incumbent will be responsible for the deployment of MSD commercial strategy. He will be in continuous cooperation and alignment with the MSD Distribution Manager.

This position will be critical in providing implementation of the CTC framework plan and approach at wholesaler level.

The incumbent will work in a team collaborative approach and will liaise with both internal and external partners.

Job Responsibilities:

– Deliver offering to wholesalers and distinguish offering from competition

– Secure and coordinate optimal activities with the most important key players

– Provide knowledge, insight, tactical suggestions, training, on a national basis, on how to optimize our efforts in retail market

– Evaluate the potential and develop strategies to realize the potential of the Key Accounts and individual pharmacies

– Ensuring achievement of sales targets, local market targets, profitability, and market share and monitoring of inventory

– Internal Alignment

– Ensuring that sales team have the information necessary

– And support to execute the plans

– Providing clear direction on expected product availability from key customers

– Active participation in National and/or Regional meetings and selected marketing meetings

– Suggest and feed into cross functional team activities to leverage area plan of action, ongoing projects & customer needs

– Informing internal partners on area business needs, sharing information on ongoing projects

Qualifications Requirements:

– Preferred 5 years experience with a minimum of 3 years as KAM within similar field (OTC/generics/branded generics/FMCG).

– Knowledge & experience with commercial trade channels like wholesalers, pharmacy chains, virtual chains, buying groups…

– A proven track record or over-achievement in sales

– A solid understanding of today’s pharma market dynamics- Proven reputation of credibility, integrity and ethics in the fieldCompetencies

Required:

– Solid business acumen in order to maximize trade opportunities in distribution and merchandising

– Financially oriented individual (ease with manipulating and understanding numbers)

– Negotiating/influencing skills, integrity and drive

– Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentations)

Soft skills:

– Entrepreneurial, Customer Driven, Engaging, Solution oriented
